[Google Search API] Returns different organic results than manual Google search for the same query #4089

Description

@gabriela-serpapi

A customer reported that the Google Search API is returning a different set of organic results compared to a manual Google search for the same query.

Query:

  • susan w fletcher obit

Playground:

What I find:

  • The customer (located in the US) consistently sees one set of results when searching manually.
  • I was able to reproduce the customer’s manual results using an incognito browser session from Argentina, suggesting the manual SERP is not heavily personalized.
  • However, we returning different results which are still relevant to the query, and some links overlap with the manual search, but several expected results are missing.

I created this issue so we can investigate this more deeply and verify whether we’re missing something on our side, or if this is simply a difference in how Google serves results to our infrastructure compared to browser searches. Thank you!
