Is this extension still relevant with Sphinx 4.1?

In Sphinx 4.1, prompt characters are no longer selectable: sphinx-doc/sphinx#9120

I am wondering if this extension is still relevant? Perhaps a clarification of the additional features (see also #35) would help. cc @humitos

Good question, It looks like that's your right, but I didn't find information about how to configure/use that...
Is it autodetected?
I should do some tests :-)
