Should we demote some of our formatters to "contrib"?

Some of our dependencies are quite old, namely Logstash and JrJackson (JRuby). From the looks of it, there have been significant changes in API compatibility. Personally, with that in mind, I wouldn't want to promote these formatters as officially supported or maintained. Unless someone wants to take responsibility of that maintenance?
