PWAR in Wine

Hello and thank you for your great contribution.
I want to ask if it's possible to use it with Wine, I tried to make it work, it shows up as an Audio driver in Live11, but if i select, the whole program crashes. right before the program crashes, there is this error in the terminal:
0208:fixme:dbghelp:elf_search_auxv can't find symbol in module

This is really interesting.. If you got it to show up I should work, I suspect that it crashes due to buffer size misconfiguration or something similar.. Trying to wrap my head around why it would be beneficial to run it in Wine though? :) I would love to try it myself, I suppose the stock WINE Audi stack lags or is it something else?

Well, the simple reason is that installing WineASIO in Wine is a royal pain in the lower parts. after days of installing and disinstalling packages, you might get it to work briefly, but any system update carries the risk of nullifying all the hard work. there are way too many packages and versions, it's kind of a nightmare also because the documentation is pretty much non existent when it comes to solving issues, at least that's my experience after trying on and off for about 5 years. Your solution seems very ingenious and elegant. I would be happy if there is a way to make it work.

Cool! Lets work together then to make it happen :) I have this massive PR that I want to get merged before I shift focus to Wine but I will help out for sure :)

I hope I'm not intruding here, but I'd just like to chime in. I didn't previously imagine PWAR as a way of making ASIO work in Wine, but my ideal setup would not involve Windows at all, so if making PWAR work with Wine is feasible it would be amazing. I agree with @giubu that WineASIO is usually a poor experience. I do wonder though: a Wine prefix doesn't really have a distinct IP address, so would both the host and PWARASIO side use localhost (or 127.0.0.1 or 0.0.0.0 or whatever) for the UDP IP?

I think the problem is not WineASIO, because once it is installed it works perfectly. The problem in my opinion is that Wine itself is very volatile, every distro uses a different version, usually upgrading breaks previous functionalities. in the same distro, there are also at least three different versions that can or have to be installed at one point or another because a library is needed for installing another program, and the previous ones will stop working. I guess because it's trying to cope with Windows, then it is also a hot mess... I think you are right that the issue to tackle is understanding the network connection, i am not an expert at all, but i am willing to spend time to try solutions and debug if possible
