type-C version connect to iPhone15

Hello,
I have an Android version of the DxO ONE camera (Type-C connector) and it works great on my Android device. However, I want to use the DxO ONE on my iPhone 15, which also uses Type-C, but it doesn't respond.
Do you have any ideas on how to switch the Android version to the iPhone version through the Type-C connection, such as using an autoexec script?

I could imagine some ways to get this to work, but unfortunately I couldn't get a Type-C variant of DxO ONE so far, so I have little experience with its firmware and how it actually behaves on a logging-level.

The key issue is at least on Firmware side, but possibly also on Hardware.
- Firmware: USB-C variant doesn't support iOS Accessory Protocol (iAP)
- Hardware: Unclear if wiring is okay and/or additional components are missing (unclear if Apple MFi Authentication requires HW that is missing on USB-C variant)

Some high-level ideas to explore:
1.) Reflash iOS Firmware on TypeC hardware (to get iAP without further change)
--> Not clear if the device would still boot, not clear if iAP expects different hardware to work (Apple MFi Authentication-chip)
2.) Find ways to enable iAP on USB-C firmware using configuration
--> Would need lots of trial and error
3.) Find ways to enable iAP on USB-C firmware using partial firmware-components from iOS variant
--> Would need lots of trial and error, high risk of random bricking

Overall there is significant risk to break the camera, because so far I didn't find a way to access the UART connection of the chipset and no method to enter the low-level reflash-mode of the Ambarella SoC.

I hear that some USB-C variants of DxO ONE are still floating around in Taiwan, but I can't find a way to buy one and get it shipped to Europe...

Hello, I attempted to run the AndroidApp-Disable and AndroidApp-Enable scripts you provided on a Type-C version of the device. After enabling IAP2, the device was able to connect to the iPhone normally and perform firmware updates for the iPhone version. This operation did not cause any damage to the device, which suggests that the two versions likely differ only in the connector, without any additional hardware changes.

Unfortunately, after switching to the IAP2, the Android device can no longer connect to the camera. Specifically, the app pops up, but it keeps attempting to connect unsuccessfully. I suspect that the Android device detects the device, but the protocol is different. As a result, to reconnect to the Android device, it is necessary to run the AndroidApp-Enable script again.

What saddens me is that I have two devices, and every time I switch between them, I need to prepare an SD card with the scripts. Do you have any ideas on how to make the device support both Android and iPhone connections simultaneously? Or, perhaps, is there a way to execute different scripts upon powering up the device by pressing certain buttons to switch between Android and iPhone modes? Thank you so much for your selfless help!

Also, I purchased my version on the "Xianyu" App in China for about 500 RMB. It seems that the shop also has many Android versions of this device.

My only idea right now is to prepare two TF cards with different scripts for switching between them. However, I’ve noticed that the device only executes the autoexec script when it is connected to the charger. If I power it on directly without the charger, the script doesn’t run. I’m not sure if I’ve made an error in my operation?

Sounds good, it means that the whole iAP code is also included in the Android firmware and just switched off.

At this moment, my only idea to support both modes in one device is to use different SDcards with different scripts, as you suggested.

The script is executed whenever the device wakes up from sleep (not only when charged, but every time). But changing the connector-setting requires a restart of the device, so you need to close and open the lens again after the script was executed to restart USB in that new mode.
