Somewhat related to this, we need a capability to control which sail plans are used under what conditions. For example, in the routing below, it's very unlikely we would actually fly the assymetric at 2AM with 3-meter swell, 99 AWA and 35 wind gusts, it's borderline and requires a well rested and experienced crew.

Yes, I totally agree. It would be well worth putting our heads together on this aspect I think, as there are several different approaches, and some quite complex trade-offs between simplicity, understandability and accuracy. Different crews might choose different tradeoffs (e.g. racing vs cruising vs delivery). I'll try to put some thoughts down on 'paper'. Come to think of it, we should move this to a dedicated GitHub discussion.
