V1.2.2 has been released to Maven Central, although it doesn't show up on Scaladex yet (the whole publishing system changed recently and I'm not sure if I've actually got it right--why do they make it so hard!!!)

Since this is the first time I've made such an announcement, I really should bring you up to date with version 1.2 as a whole. Here are the main features:

• The entire ExpressionMatchers code base has been rewritten (leaving many deprecated methods which need to be cleaned up):
  • The key method for simplifying _Expression_s is simplify. This operates recursively by invoking matchSimpler until it encounters a miss, in which case it returns the previous simplified version. There are four phases of simplification for a CompositeExpression:
    • simplifyComponents
    • simplifyTrivial
    • simplifyConstant
    • simplifyComposite
• Algebraic quantities have been introduced:
  • These represent solutions to equations that cannot be represented precisely with one quantity
    • Quadratic equations, for example, we can represent the Golden ratio $\phi$ exactly this way. Issue: need to integrate Complex and Algebraic quantities.
    • Linear equations (these solutions can already be represented, but this is just for completeness)
• The Root domain has been restructured to be more general.
  • In addition to SquareRoot and CubeRoot (which were renamed from the ambiguous Root2 and Root3), there are more general roots based on a rational inverse power.
• The README.md file has been improved (including a logo, thanks to Zijie).
