Moving BenQ Zowie fast enough causes the mouse to lock up.

I tried this with both firmware versions v1.1.6 and v1.1.7beta1 and this appears to happen.

The hardware I am using is a BenQ ZOWIE EC2-C (Gaming Mouse), some knock off Cherry MX Red keyboard (RisoPhy), and I use a 2-port USB switch from UGREEN (toggle between my main PC and a retro PC)

However while it mostly works when both advanced keyboard and mouse modes were on, I began to notice that if I moved my mouse fast enough, the input suddenly stops working and it mostly affects the mouse. I had to restart my PC for it to work again. (Btw, I had this tested with both 125Hz and 1000Hz polling rates)

Hmm, weird. I wonder if it's overflowing the mouse buffer.

Can the mouse's DPI be turned down? Not a full solution but it would be interesting to see if that stops it freezing.

In the footage provided above, I was on purple LED (800 DPI)

I did try 400 DPI (red LED) and the same issue happened, albeit it did took a little bit more effort moving the mouse as fast as I could. However 3200 DPI made it more easy to cause the same issue.

I recall the keyboard stopped working once or twice on my Pentium II 450MHz PC but was kind of rare and thought it was a problem with Counter-Strike 1.5 a while back because that was when I started to notice it happening the first time (during a multiplayer event with friends).

However on my HP Z230 running Windows XP, despite the mouse locking up completely, the keyboard still worked and was able to soft reboot my PC that way unlike the Pentium II where I had to hard reboot.

Not too sure if this helps or not but while I did reproduce the issue again (without the USB switch), I tried the HID log after the mouse crapped itself but moving it shows some Invalid report messages.

Can you get me a log of you plugging the mouse in? I need to look at the report descriptors.

Ideally save it as a .txt file, I'd rather not type it all in lol.

Also, does "invalid report" only appear after the error occurs? Or does it happen whenever you move the mouse.

It's a Zowie EC2-C. Although you could originally grab one at their store page it is discontinued.
