Should poetry use packaging over pkginfo ?

packaging is part of pypa so is likely to see updates in a more timely fashion for new metadata versions.

PEP 794 support is still outstanding at this time pypa/packaging#945 but I'm not sure what the support path for pkginfo is for new metadata versions.

twine migrated over about a few months ago: pypa/twine#1180

There are no convenience methods for parsing bdist/sdist/wheel files like what pkginfo provides, but maybe rolling our own implementation isn't too difficult?

IIRC, some time ago we had already planned to replace pkginfo with packaging. However, nobody had the time to try seriously. I assume it requires a little effort.

I was working on the replacement some time ago. I'd say that if someone is willing to provide a PR, I would be more than happy to review and merge it
