[Lenovo X1 Carbon] Cannot install - unable to find a medium containing a live file system

I've burned this image with Etcher on a USB stick:

$ sha1sum pop-os_18.04_amd64_intel_40.iso
b874efcd2dbbe81b91e9e4cc04c6a3ccb60b25da pop-os_18.04_amd64_intel_40.iso

When I attempt to boot my Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th gen from it, I get this error:

I've just burned the official Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS image with Etcher onto the same USB stick, and it booted and installed Ubuntu fine. So it looks like the USB stick is not the culprit.

Try re-downloading and reflashing the Pop ISO.

I am having the same problem here, a can install Pop Os 18.04 but the 20.04 give me this message, no matter how many times I download the image or what USB stick I try (tried 5 differents USB sticks).

20.04 is quite old at this point, and the issue you're having now with 20.04+ is probably not the same issue this person was having with 17.10.

I believe Pop 18.04 was the first version to use systemd-boot.

What hardware are you using, are you also using a Lenovo X1 Carbon?

I don't think 20.04 is quite old since it is a LTS version. My system is very different, I have an old AMD FX - 8320e in a 990FX-UD3 motherboard.

After searching, I found in the page of the Tails Known Issues a erro installing from a Kingston Data Traveler 2000, none of my USB sticks are of the same model but all are from Kingston, so I brought a generic USB stick to have a try and the problem do not occur. I also tested with te version 21.04 and the error do not occur using the Kingston USB stick. So I thing, like Tails, the POP OS 20.04 maybe has some incompatibility with the Kingston USB stick.
