Four whitespace before '-' marker won't render list

If there are four spaces before the "-", it will not be rendered as a list. How can this be solved?

That is markdown, 4 spaces is code, please read about markdown, don’t use code if you want something else

how to modify the content before parsing? or how to change the default list token regex?
