PDK Dev Call July 7th

Armin

• Took over and handled open items on Add expected_weight field to InputPair #772. Fixed up open comments and now waiting for another round of review.
• Last week released version 0.24 - session peristence. Documenting follow up items and address techdebt after the release.
• Reviewed PR Session persister mutants #791 and Introduce metrics Collection via prometheus for payjoin directory #848
• Enabled Clippy in the FFI crate CI (PR Setup Lint workflows for payjoin-ffi #846).
• Need to finalize a integration strategy for Liana. What are the steps that need to be taken to push this integration over the finish line and what kinds of resources do we need?

Ben

• Last week, made progress on Dart integration tests. Faced issues with Redis Docker persistence. Zele opened a PR that gets the integration tests running without relying on Redis.
• Plan is to use Zele's workaround to unblock final integration, though we still want to understand the Redis issue. A Dart maintainer mentioned our downstream changes will be upstreamed soon.
• Continued work on session persistence-related mutations Session persister mutants #791
• This week: finish the Dart FFI branch Uniffi dart #829
• Plan: Zele and Ben will pair on the draft PR to get it ready for review. Once merged into Spacebear’s branch, we’ll mark that as review-ready.
• Top priority is merging integration tests into the main Dart branch and preparing it for review.
• Still investigating some Dart-related errors (segfaults) with Chavic

Dan

• Released 0.24 last week.
• Investigated a false alarm related to URI parameter encoding. The encoding doesn’t follow any spec and conflicts with another one. BB and Cake are working around this (?) . Collaborating with nothingmuch to adjust the spec in a backward-compatible way over a few releases.
• Analyzed why surveillance tooling is advancing faster than defensive software.
• Emphasized a core directive: We need to be doing more payjoins. Also meaning Payjoin developers should be actively doing Payjoins .
• Current constraint: must submit foundational documentation before onboarding new contributors.

Zele

• Identified a race condition: the custom Dart class tries to interact with Docker before it’s fully initialized.
• Documented the issue in the Discord FFI status tracker.
• Used a different strategy to get Dart integration tests Uniffi_dart integration tests #850 working by switching to an in-memory persister instead of Redis. This strategy is proving to work but the test is not finished yet
• This week: get full v2-to-v2 sender/receiver integration tests running. Main blocker is the Docker startup race condition.

Chavic

• Focused on UniFFI Dart integration. Started implementing error types, as flagged by Spacebear as a blocker.
• Prioritizing support for exporting string-based error messages from Rust to Dart.

Nothingmuch

• spec & code PRs to change fragment parameter delimiter from + to -, motivated by Kumulynja PR to bip 77 spec suggesting escaping of + be mandatory (which I NACKed)
• spoke with rustaceanrob about CBF and improving electrum/esplora privacy, using a shared building block (approximate multi set multi membersip query structures)
• got distracted by (1) and didn't finish pr for tokio-rustls-acme for only payjoin-directory (not the combined service), this is now my main focus, no blockers

Spacebear

• fixed vtable initialization issues in uniffi-dart generated code that resulted in runtime errors when making callback interface calls
• started investigating another set of runtime errors due to unhanded Result return types
• PR reviews for 0.24 and related releases
