PDK Dev Call – June 9 2025

Armin:

• Last week worked on getting Make Receiver generic over its typestate #719 Sender generic over typestate #728 merged
• Put up PR to have new receiver type state return state transition objects Replace Persister with SessionPersister for v2::Receiver #750
• Unblocking any Liana related blockers as they come up

Artur:

• Working on issue Input weight prediction for P2WSH inputs #659: weight estimation for p2wsh inputs, which Liana spends.
• Still figuring out the testing strategy, but unit tests should be possible.
• Liana integration is stable on a branch. Its release is blocked by SEL / 24.0 release. Working on upstreaming changes to rust-payjoin while blocked.

Ben:

• Resolved issues with the danger_local_https build by introducing a new manual_tls_flag. This unifies local cert handling for OHTTP relay setup.
• Finished analysis on two remaining sender mutants. Planning to eliminate the last mutant related to NS1R status codes this week.
• Aims to achieve full mutation coverage for sender logic by end of week.
• Discussed when to lock the Cargo Mutants version. For now, will allow auto-updates until coverage improves. Will open an issue when it's time to pin.
• Started FFI integration tests between v2 and v1, but got blocked on a specific UniFFI export. Spacebear is helping with this blocker.
• This week: mutation coverage for sender and progress on FFI integration tests.

Dan

• Spacebear is back and taking a more active role in reviews.
• Met with the Bitcoin Design Community on Tuesday to discuss the current state of Payjoin education. Noted the gap in protocol literacy.
• Emphasized that our marketing should focus on protocol education.
• Note that Liana Payjoin integration blog post should get some publicity.
• Also focusing on the Flutter story. Based on GitHub discussions, the plan is to use a unified plugin enforcing type safety.
• Still searching for someone with strong FFI expertise.
• Needs to help finalize the Flutter integration strategy.
• Reviewing SEL PRs and gathering directory usage statistics for future marketing.

Nothingmuch:

• Reviewed and caught up on merged PRs.
• Investigating a hybrid directory/relay setup after Brandon raised concerns about the operational burden of running the directory. A write-up and issue are in progress.
• May take some time off later this month.

Spacebear:

• Spent last week catching up on PR reviews and unblocking other contributors.
• Continued work on Payjoin CLI response size handling and refactoring OHTTP response logic.
• Primary focus is refactoring Flutter error exports with Bram
• No current blockers.

Shing:

• Looking to help clean up tech debt.
• Will take on tasks related to PSBT input constructors.

Zele

• Got an overview of the current FFI system.
• Exploring how to bring Flutter integration into the main monorepo.
• Blocked by UniFFI needing updates to support Gobley, which is required for Swift/Kotlin integration.
• Investigating whether Dart FFI can resolve the Flutter integration issues.

Zealsham:

• Addressing tech debt, including call model reexports (reviewed by Spacebear).
• Investigating issue Introduce simple metrics for payjoin-directory #735: adding basic Payjoin Directory metrics.
• Building a Prometheus server to expose selected metrics with minimal dependencies.
• Will take on coding the metrics export once Nothingmuch’s discussion post on motivation is live.

Efe:

• Working on Payjoin integration in bdk-cli. Received feedback from Spacebear.
• Currently implementing the send side. Will begin on receiving next.
• Updating BDK documentation in parallel with integration work.

Weird Robot:

• Working on PartialEq and Eq implementations for error types.
