Oracle RAC software is not present on nodes ([ol7-19-rac1]) - Permission issue with Guest Node1

Hi,

Encountered Permission issue with Guest Node1, causing both Grid and Oracle DB install/configuration failure. Find complete execution output command.

vagrant_rac-ol7_node_1_28102025_execution.log

My Host:

• Machine: MacOS Ventura 13.7.8
• Memory: 32g

Please advise how to resolve issue.\

Hi.

The first error in the log is this.

/bin/ssh-copy-id: ERROR: ssh: connect to host ol7-19-rac2 port 22: Connection refused

It appears node2 is not already built prior to building node1, or if it is built, node1 can't see it on the network.

Make sure you build the VMs in the order DNS, node2 then node1.

Note. I have no experience of doing this build on Apple Silicon, so I don't know if that will present any problems.

That is the exact order in that order (dns, node2, node1).

Find log for node 2 below:
vagrant_rac-ol7_node_2_28102025_execution.log

What is the solution the error you highlighted above.

That may be the issue. I've seen this on Windows hosts. As I mentioned, I don't have Apple Silicon, so I can't comment on that.

I've disabled the dhcp service on vbox, but the issue still persists. Note am on Vbox version: 7.2 so ive had to use the command line:

Have you tried restarting the the DNS server at the appropriate time, as described in the readme?

What should i look out for in Node-1 execution standard-out to mark the point to to restart the DNS Server?

Just tried as mention above, but still the same issue

I don't know what to say then. It works fine for me on Windows 10 and Windows 11. It used to work on my Intel Mac. I've never tried on Apple silicon.

Hum!!! I guess Rac on MacOS is out of the picture then, though i've tested and see that DataGuard works on MacOS though. Its likely to be the interconnect config thats the issue for Rac on MacOS

Data Guard and single instances are a lot less fussy than RAC. Maybe someone else is trying it on Apple silicon and what a workaround. I don't really pay much attention to that, as I don't have the kit. :)
