Comparability of commercial and open source versions

I'm just curious: Is the open source https://github.com/openalpr/openalpr really stuck on version 2.3.0 while the commercial version is at 2.7.102?

If you're interested in the API, don't bother with this product. I just spoke to Mr. Robling at the company. They no longer sell licenses for it. All the documentation regarding this feature is outdated.
