 - **Downloads can no longer hang on a stalled first contact.** A network blip at the very start used to park the size probe in `.waitingForConnectivity` forever — a spinner with no speed and no way back. The session now fails fast, the probe retries (3 attempts with backoff) before giving up, a persistent failure surfaces as an error with Retry resuming from the bitmap, and the probe's backoff knob is sanitized so no value can trap. The V4.1 Q4 two-part download is unaffected structurally: `…Q4.gguf.part1`/`.part2` are its transport files, joined in place after per-part SHA-256 verification.
