See Jarl, a new r linter. It could be helpful for use in IDEs. I'm not sure if it would also be appropriate to run it in a github action or not.

Consider using jarl in development of ghactions4r and possibly in a ghaction

use lintr or no linter at all (rely on styling)

Also - it is possible to add custom rules, so I wonder if the remove dollar sign function could be implemented in jarl. It is written in rust, so is much faster than any R code.
