In my use case I define all the overheads in Netbox, typically just append OHR to the rack its associated with. In elevations this puts them side by side, however if there was a means to establish a relationship between them (parent, child) and have the child (in my case the overhead) display above the parent in elevations view. I am not sure of the level of effort or appetite for this capability, but in my line of work and my customers this is requested often. If I am missing an existing way to accomplish this would greatly appreciate some guidance. |

Is there a preferred solution to show an overhead patch rack (rack units configurable) that can have devices installed (i.e. patch panels, wiring managers etc.) This would then be linked to the cabinet that it is assigned to, and would be visible in the rack elevation. I have been trying to use non-racked equipment, however it was not designed necessarily with this in mind. If anyone has figured out a solution please let me know, and if not is this a use case others deal with. Below is example for reference.
