Hi.

I was wondering if you have any plans on releasing / supporting embedded platforms. No STL no STD versions.

Hi @luqasz, I am not sure what exactly you mean here. Nothing prevents embedded platforms from using a freestanding part of the C++ Standard Library, and there are many bare metal embedded projects that use those features. The mp-units library, according to my knowledge, is freestanding as well. We do not use any language or library features that prevent it from being freestanding.

I've tried using it with avr-gcc 12.2. AVR platform doesn't have stdc++ available, unlike arm. (compiler explorer in links).

By freestanding in this context you mean arm gcc ?

Well, this means that an issue/bug should be submitted to include freestanding part of C++ Standard Library with avr-gcc as well. There is nothing preventing the usage of freestanding part of the C++ Standard Library for any embedded compiler.

@luqasz have a look at https://github.com/modm-io/avr-libstdcpp. While we do not currently use this library on avr-gcc, we are using this library on bare-metal with arm-gcc. avr-libstdcpp supports most of the C++20 features (it's currently based on libstdc++ from GCC 10), so I think there might be a chance that you can get it to run together with this library.

mp-units 2.2 provides a freestanding configuration option that does exactly this.
