Connection refused. Is the MCP server running error?

Describe the bug
I cannot connect my MCP inspector to my MCP server.

This is what I see when trying to connect to the StreamableHttp endpoint:

When I try to connect to the SSE endpoint this is the error I see:

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Run npx -y @modelcontextprotocol/inspector@latest
2. Start MCP local server
3. Try to connect via session token provided in CLI
4. Connection fails

Expected behavior
Connection should not fail

Environment (please complete the following information):

• OS: Windows
• Browser Edge

I suspect this is related to the proxy server not running in this scenario (potentially specific to Windows, although it needs to be confirmed).
