In the context of "keeping my stuff in the EU", maybe people want to move from Github towards smaller, local installations. Spinning up gitea as container in mStudio worked like a charm, setting up workers for workflow actions is well documented and should be possible as well.

I have something like this already half-written (although with Forgejo, which is basically a Gitea fork, IIRC).

What I stumbled over was setting up the Actions runner (which would be a necessity IMO if you're really serious about running your own), which requires a Docker-in-Docker setup running in privileged mode (which is not supported on our platform). But maybe there are alternative solutions? 🤔

Yeah that's the main issue on this - workers would be needed to do anything more than simply host git repos. Maybe there is a way to spin up workers via API instead of directly from within gitea/forgejo/... . I guess some glue code talking to both gitea & friends plus mStudio API would be helpful then.
