Performance issues in Firefox

I've found medium to large mind maps (>100 nodes) in MindMup2 to slow down to the point of unusability in Firefox, especially in adding new nodes, which can result in pauses of several seconds on a modern laptop. eg: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bx-lEMS9aM2EdWJzWWRzdFljbjQ/view?usp=sharing. Chrome has no such problem.

Even the latency of adding nodes to a new map is noticeable in Firefox in a way that it's not in Chrome, sending me back to v1 in general. 😞
