Problem summary
When attempting to send a direct message to someone I met in the Github class BITS recently concluded), I tried to @mention "bits" in the message. I followed the instructions given, which said to place my cursor at the beginning of the username, immediately before the @ sign. However, the autocomplete feature fails to provide @mention suggestions regardless of where the cursor is positioned.
Steps to reproduce
- Open a DM with another user in FastSM.
- Attempt to @mention "bits" by typing @bits
- Place cursor at the beginning of the username (prior to the @ sign) as instructed or at the end.
- Observe that autocomplete does not provide suggestions either way.
Expected
Autocomplete should work for @mentions whether the cursor is before or after the @ sign, or at least as instructed by the interface.
Actual
Autocomplete fails to activate, and no suggestion is provided.
Additional context
- The DM was sent to another user from the Github class after class concluded.
- The instructions shown were followed precisely.
- The issue persists regardless of cursor position
