Question on talking to MC server

Hi Mark,

This project looks neat, and very concise. Is there any alternative to using a raw socket for reading the data?

Do you have any links/notes on the protocol?

Hi Alex. The socket communication and byte packing for the protocol I pretty much copied from the gist linked in the code (there's a protocol reference linked there too, though I think all I did with that reference was look at it and conclude I didn't want to rewrite the byte packing I'd copied). So not much to add beyond what you've seen already, except that I'd guess that socket reading is the way to do it.
