You can close this issue if you think this is repeated, not going to happen/be ignored.
I don't have logs. These are just my "polishing" ideas.

USING:

• Mint 22.1
• X11
• Cinnamon

1- No browse (navigation) buttons in the "open file" dialog boxes. A well as in "save as". I know we can use the breadcrumbs to navigate but it is unpractical, "back", "forward" and "a level back" would be better.

2- GUI move/copy files sometimes doesn't trigger, sometimes you even get a green "+" indicating a copy operation but the files don't get copied. No, it is not because of root permissions required.

3- "False" copy/cut: sometimes you CTRL+C / CTRL+X only to find nothing has been copied (paste option is greyed out in context menu).

4- No view options in the "open file" or "save as" windows. Sometimes you need to see if a picture is repeated or not before saving it, but this is not possible because in those windows there are no options like in the normal browsing (thumbnails, details... etc).

5- Is there a way to have more than around 70 scripts for nemo actions? right now I have around 70 nemo actions, if I navigate to the nemo actions folder, the browser struggles to keep up, slows down and sometimes can crash. Context menu is showing the 70 actions in their submenus, but sometimes it glitches and shows a partial context menu (fixed by right cliking again)

6- A better copy command interface? right now it only shows a progress bar with the names of the files being copied and a stop button. Can we have a little more control? maybe a pause? also, the default copy action doesn't work as well as rsync for some reason (I had problems copying a big number of files/folders and Rsync did it without problems)

7- Will it be possible to use custom png icons with nemo actions someday?

2: I'd need something reproducible to investigate this... the copy/move behavior is also dependent on whether the target is on a different filesystem.

3: Again, would need concrete examples to investigate.

5 and 7: ...if I navigate to the nemo actions folder... do you mean navigating to ~/.local/share/nemo/actions? causes nemo to become unstable? Please clarify. You can arrange/organize actions (as as well as override their icon) in the action layout editor...

Sorry, it is random so I cannot help there. I can only tell you that it happened on ext4 -> ext4 operations. It doesn't happen too much.

Yes, exactly that. When navigating to the nemo actions folder and having around 70 actions there, the browser struggles to scroll a lot and sometimes it freezes a little. The crashes are mostly the context menu and it happens when right clicking the desktop mostly: the context menu gets some items displayed and an empty area on the bottom like if it crashed. Clicking again shows the menu correctly.

Yes I know that, but I was referring to the possibility of using custom external png icons and not the symbolic (system) ones only. I have no problems with submenus arrangement.

Viewing the actions directory should behave no differently than viewing any other directory. Did you write all the actions yourself? I'd suggest investigating further by disabling all actions and re-enabling one-by-one, there may be a specific one causing these issues.

Here is an example of my 90 nemo actions. They are all the same, it only changes the destination script (an .sh that has the logics), which is also the same repeated script everytime but changes the destination folder (but it is more complex).

Is this ok? it is all the nemo actions files I made have.

I made a TEST:

Removed all downloaded nemo actions (16) and the folder was left only with my custom nemo actions (the same from the example above). Those are 90 files, not 70 as I've thought. Nemo gets glitchy when scrolling in that folder.
I must say it is not a system-wide slowdown but only in the folder of the nemo actions.

More weirdness: I've tried moving all my 90 nemo action scripts to another folder to test and it crashed nemo. I am always using GUI to do this.

After the crash, I moved them again (out of nemo actions folder) and no crash.
Then I realized that I could not test "one by one" because all I can perceive when it "fails" is the massive slowdown when scrolling the folder, which can't happen if I only have one file in it.

So I moved all files back to nemo actions folder and it slowed down again.

Check that all your actions' Selection fields are correctly defined - this crash is being caused by that field, though I can't reproduce it at this time.

Took the time to see each nemo action, all mine are exactly the same:

Selection=notnone

It makes my CPU peak one of its processors. Definetly a bug here.

Checked every single file, left there only the ones made by myself. All of them are clones, they all have the same lines as the example:
