Bug description

Can't drag folders from the tree view into an external app to open them, instead have to back up to the parent folder, then drag them from the right pane into the app (which works). What a monumental annoyance. What a pointless, absolutely meaningless, waste of time.

Steps to reproduce

See above.

Expected behavior

Dragging a folder or file form anywhere in the interface to another app that accepts drop-in data will provide that data to the app and not fail without any error, warning, notice, or useful feedback.

Additional information

Has anyone used Windows 95? This kind of 30-year-old "quirk" is why NOBODY is willing to switch to Linux. It's absurd. It literally seems like such basic, obvious, simple UX is completely beyond the comprehension of anyone working on these tools. Sorry, I want to support, but I feel like I waste so much time looking for packages that can handle basic things like this that it's not worth even trying anything anymore. I wonder if the package managers are more concerned about curing the manifestation of user frustration expressed here with rules and notices far in excess of what can be observed in any other open source package bug reporting system, rather than simply addressing the issues and solving the reported problems.

My vote: Less admin sensitivity, More admin programmy
