What code did you use to get the frame? I used the exact same one in FrameGrabberTest function tetsFrameGrabber(). And it works fine. But it does not work if you want to get too many frames e.g 100 Frames.

Currently writing my own library for mediacodec. Where I can decode any number of frames.

@myin142 I just get the 5 frames by using function getFrameAtTime(time). However, they're sync frames, which are the same picture. And I track your code find the
mMediaExtractor.seekTo(timeUs, MediaExtractor.SEEK_TO_PREVIOUS_SYNC) in the class VideoDecoder;
Does this code try to find the sync frame?

The MediaExtractor only finds the sync frames, in this case always the previous one. The MediaCodec is then decoding every other frame until the one you search.

AFAIK this code should work with just 5 Frames. MediaCodec works the same with time or with frame. What code do you use to get the frame?

FYI this library is not created by me. So it's not really my code.

@LNeway I also use FFMPEG to get the exact frame at given times, but the problem with FFMPEG is it takes a lot of time getting multiple frames(5 frames), causing UI lag, did you experience the same issue?

@HBiSoft Yes, Maybe you need put the task int the work thread.

@LNeway Sorry I don't understand, ffmpeg runs on a background thread and updates the UI in onFinish() (https://github.com/WritingMinds/ffmpeg-android), running ffmpeg on a worker thread will block the UI?
