Visually distinguish annotations inside a multiline annotation

Some annotations highlight an entire method or multiple lines, which make them red. Annotations that are in the highlighted code, are highlighted in the same color, making them invisible. One could add code to visually distinguish these nested highlights, by for example using a different color?

This would mean that multiple colors are layered atop each other. I don't think this would be readable very well… Though I can't think of a better way.
