It's not abandoned; I just got the package to a place where it was "good enough" for my own use. I'm using it with RcppParallel: e.g.

Are you making use of the package? Is there missing functionality that you need?

Ah - ok, makes sense. No, I haven't used it, but I have just spent a couple of days setting up my own configuration here: https://github.com/serkor1/SLmetrics/blob/C++23/configure.ac

But I would have loved to use it, only stumbled upon it when I was to create the configure for Windows.

If its good enough for you, I am certain it is good enough me! Great work!

Let me know what you think. It doesn't really export a lot of tools; it mostly just makes it easier to do the sort of file.in => file transformations where you need to replace placeholders with values computed at configure time.

Once I get a better understanding of Autoconf and the whole configure process, I will!

It's all trial and error for me at this stage.
