noScribeEdit does not open on LinuxMint 22.1

Hello,
noScribeEdit does not open on LinuxMint 22.1, neither automatically after transcribing, nor from the noScribeEdit-icon on the desktop. When I click on the Editor-button on the noScribe main-window, it simply opens a new noScribe main window. When I click on the noScribeEdit-icon on the desktop, nothing happens.

I am desperately interested in using all the features of the noScribe-Editor, which sound fantastic to me.

noScribe itself runs from the terminal as well as from the desktop-icon, and the transcripts are fine.

I installed it from the exexutable noScribe_0.6.2b_cpu_linux_amd64.tar.gz from this link: https://drive.switch.ch/index.php/s/HtKDKYRZRNaYBeI?path=%2FLinux

Python 3.12.3

My System is:
MySystem.txt

The same behaviour appeared on another desktop-computer with LM 22.1

Hey @Bernhard61, thanks for the feedback. I'll look into that in detail later. In short: The Linux package is stilling beta development. 0.6.2b is not the newest version and it has a bug in the editor link. Please use the 0.6.2c (legacy) version. Just ignore the legacy in the name. There is no non-legacy version anymore. This should work on older and newer machines.

Here is the output of the terminal, when I launch noScribe (noScribe_0.6.2c_legacy_cpu_linux_amd64.tar.gz) and the main window opens:

Fontconfig warning: "/usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail/05-reset-dirs-sample.conf", line 6: unknown element "reset-dirs"

Clicking on Editor in the main window, gives that in addition, and nothing happens concerning the editor:

qt.qpa.plugin: From 6.5.0, xcb-cursor0 or libxcb-cursor0 is needed to load the Qt xcb platform plugin.
qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found.
This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
Available platform plugins are: vkkhrdisplay, offscreen, xcb, wayland-egl, minimal, minimalegl, wayland, eglfs, linuxfb, vnc.

Unfortunately, all this is beyond my scope and I don't know what to do with this info.

This is most likely due to missing Qt packages. Here's a solution for this: #185 (comment) (and #185 (comment))

Starting 0.6.2b from the terminal doesn't give any message, it opens the main window.

0.6.2c is starting despite the warning, opens the main window, but not the editor, nor does it open a second main window, as it does with 0.6.2b (which is of no use).

Have you tried identifying and installing the missing Qt packages as mentioned above?
