Which other ToDo app does due dates best? (Poll)

I also like Skedpal's approach to due dates: the due date is separate from the plan date, allowing the task to be scheduled well before or after (!) it is due.

I totally agree it should be separate. However I think it would be best to still have it visible in the planner / schedule view of super-productivity (not in a separate view) Just differentiating it with color or something since splitting it would remove clarity IMO

I really like how taskwarrior does it. It uses due date and other factory to calculate an urgency, and then it has a view where it sorts all tasks in decending order from most urgent to least urgent.

A due date like this, combined with a view that allows me to see all tasks sorted by decreasing priority is the only thing holding me back from being able to switch to this amazing app, as my brain functions on due dates. If something doesnt have a due date, i'll not get it done 😅

For me, OmniFocus (OF) does this best. The possibility to enter a distance from today (e.g. 1w) is really helpful (many do this). OF also handles recurring deadlines perfectly (and lets the user specify whether the next deadline is relative to completion or relative to previous deadline). But the killer feature for me is the ability to actively postpone tasks, which then disappear from the task list and appear again at the specified date. I must add that OF goes far beyond this and covers all my project management and tracking needs (e.g. arbitrary nesting with customizible list types). Unfortunately, time boxing/blocking seems to be out of scope for them - and super productivity really shines here. Anyway, I will likely not move away from OF for due date monitoring (for me, recording tasks via Siri while on the go is a strict requirement because I'm really bad at remembering even the smallest commitments for more than 10 minutes ;-) )

On my cell phone, I have been using aCalender for years, it's pretty mature by now. It has the fanciest scheduling features I ever needed, but it is not aware of priorities. So it will pretty soon be completely replaced with SuperProductivity once the (Kanban) board functionality becomes more mature, and once I manage to synch my two Linux boxes and cell phone without troubles — this is still a major pain.

Just curious, what is the pain point you have in syncing between mobile and two Linux boxes? Is it calendar syncing, task, or something else?

I only synchronize tasks, via WebDAV.

I have the casual red "Failed to Synch" every day (I can't reproduce the exact message now until it re-appears), but much more often I get the dialog saying that local data and remote data are out of synch, because e. g. I entered something on my cellphone while I was away from my computer (say, at lunch, in a meeting, or on the way) — and then I have the choice to overwrite either dataset, which doesn't work for me. I already don't use SuperProd on my cellphone anymore but on weekends, but instead write an email to myself, which I have to handle on either workstation when I'm back — but this is a very clumsy process.

I dream of a GIT repository, where I can just commit and push the changes during the next synch cycle, and then pull from another machine during synch. In any way, it has to be diffs, not the whole list of tasks, that should be writen to my WebDAV synch folder.

Ah, I see. We have similar setups. I managed to reduce the number of those sync errors with webDav by reducing the sync time to 15-20 minutes on each device. (SP still syncs on shutdown or manually of course.) After slowing down the auto sync (from the default of 1 min), I'm seldom seeing that sync error.

I was on 10' and set it to 15' now. But I think that's not the real cause — maybe something with WebDAV iself? And the other problem of monolithic override is the real problem IMO. But maybe I better open a different thread for this.
