Flickering on credits screen

When using the OpenGL ES 2.0 or 1.1 HAL rendering device, the background of the credits screen flashes. I suspect this is to do with the credits screen not being built for higher framerates. I am on Endeavour OS (based on Arch Linux) on Wayland with a GTX 1650 and 575.64 drivers. This happens both in fullscreen and in windowed mode.

Note: Do not watch the video if you are prone to seizures from flashing lights.

I'm having the same issue on regular Arch Linux with Xorg using an NVIDIA GPU (Proprietary Driver)
I also have a similar flashing issue with the transition effect #430

Probably another issue resulting from broken transition effect, try using the sdl3_gpu backend

The reason I was using the OpenGL HAL backends was because the SDL3 GPU doesn't work for me for some reason :/

... does your Nvida card not have Vulkan support?

It does support Vulkan, it's just that SDL3 may be acting a bit funny on my system.

Same issue on Mali-T860 using the Panfrost driver.

This is also happening on Mac using the SDL3 GPU HAL.

As of the latest commit, it seems to not happen on X11. However, I can't test it on Wayland because the game won't work for me there anymore.

Works on both X11 and Wayland here, are you building it yourself or using the pre-build from CI?

I've been using the pre-build. I've compiled it for myself now and it doesn't work there either. Here's the log:

Are you using KDE? I had the same issue, but not on my laptop which runs Sway.

I'm on Gnome. Lots of things fails for me on Wayland, not Isle though.
