Inability to Select Cell Elements

In MicroStation, users can directly select a Cell element. However, in the iTwin.js viewer, it is impossible to select these same Cell elements using the mouse. Attempting to switch the Scope (e.g., from "Element" to "Assembly") does not resolve this issue.

Is the concept of a Cell still supported within the iTwin platform?

There is no concept of elements that contain other elements like cells in itwin.

That said, the dgn connector ought to have converted the cell as an assembly, so I would have expected assembly scope to select all the elements that comprised the cell for you...

@abeesh @jffmarker @zhang-zimin I am unable to reproduce an issue. I believe I'm looking at the same elements. In MicroStation, I selected ElementId 1081587.

This is "Cell: Structural Element." It has 5 children cells. 2 of those cells also have children. When I converted it, the parent/child relationships were correctly added.

Using Desktop Viewer, I can select that same element group with the 'Assembly' scope.

Am I testing the wrong thing? @zhang-zimin what tool (and version) are you using to synchronize your .dgn to imodel?

This may be related to the iTwin version. Version 5.0.2 no longer has this issue, but version 4.6.2 does.
