Problem

Navigating to:

Settings → Companion App → Notifications → Sounds

causes the application to hang immediately. The Sounds screen never appears.

After approximately 10 seconds, iPadOS terminates the application. The issue is reproducible 100% of the time.

Troubleshooting Performed

• Force-closed app
• Rebooted iPad
• Deleted app
• Reinstalled from App Store
• Same behaviour after reinstall
• Home Assistant server functioning normally
• Same user account works correctly on iPhone 14 Pro

Companion app logs consistently end at:

Crash Report

The .ips report shows:

Notes

The crash report stack trace appears to be in SwiftUI layout/rendering while opening the Sounds view.

The Home Assist notification settings screen for Home Assistant works normally via IOS Settings → Notifications → Home Assistant > Home Assistant Notification Settimgs. The issue only occurs when in Home Assistant app, opening Settings → Companion App → Notifications → Sounds , this path cause App to hang.

I'm having the same hang, consistently reproducible. Differences for me are that the app is never terminated by the OS - it just hangs indefinitely (I've let it go several minutes). Also, no new log entries are recorded in Companion App Settings > Debugging > Event Log at the time of the hang. Restarting, reinstalling, etc. had no effect.

My iPad is a bit older, a 5th Gen (iPad6,11). It's running iPadOS 16.7.15.
