Problem
Navigating to:
Settings → Companion App → Notifications → Sounds
causes the application to hang immediately. The Sounds screen never appears.
After approximately 10 seconds, iPadOS terminates the application. The issue is reproducible 100% of the time.
Troubleshooting Performed
- Force-closed app
- Rebooted iPad
- Deleted app
- Reinstalled from App Store
- Same behaviour after reinstall
- Home Assistant server functioning normally
- Same user account works correctly on iPhone 14 Pro

Companion app logs consistently end at:
NotificationSoundsView.swift
librarySoundsURL() > Creating sounds directory ...
Crash Report
The .ips report shows:
Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGKILL)
Termination Reason:
FRONTBOARD
