Third-Party Attributions
================================================================================
Full license texts for all third-party packages are in THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.
The entries below call out components with complex licensing lineage or
specific NOTICE obligations.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ring (Apache-2.0 AND ISC)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ring is used for cryptographic operations in the Hew runtime and tools.
It is dual-licensed: new code is under the ISC License; BoringSSL-derived
code is under the Apache License, Version 2.0.
Copyright 2015-2021 Brian Smith and the ring contributors.
ring's LICENSE file, LICENSE-BoringSSL file, and LICENSE-other-bits file
govern their respective portions of the ring source. No legacy advertising
clause (SSLeay) applies — BoringSSL was relicensed to Apache-2.0 by Google.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
aws-lc-rs / aws-lc-sys (Apache-2.0 OR ISC, with BoringSSL/OpenSSL heritage)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
aws-lc-rs and aws-lc-sys are used for cryptographic operations in hew-observe
and libhew.a. AWS-LC is a fork of BoringSSL; new code is Apache-2.0 OR ISC.
BoringSSL-derived code is Apache-2.0. OpenSSL-derived files carry the
Eric Young (SSLeay) copyright and are covered under Apache-2.0 per the
aws-lc-sys LICENSE file. No advertising clause applies.

Copyright 1995-1998 Eric Young (eay@cryptsoft.com). All rights reserved.
(Covered by Apache-2.0 per the aws-lc-sys license file.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
webpki-roots / webpki-root-certs (CDLA-Permissive-2.0)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These crates provide the root CA certificate bundle used by the Hew standard
library's TLS support. The CDLA-Permissive-2.0 license applies to the
certificate data; it requires preserving the license text with distributions.
The full CDLA-Permissive-2.0 text is in THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
option-ext (MPL-2.0)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
option-ext is a transitive dependency pulled via dirs-sys → dirs (hew-cli).
The Mozilla Public License, Version 2.0 applies to option-ext's own source
files. MPL-2.0 does not propagate to Hew's source; Hew's MIT OR Apache-2.0
terms are unaffected. The MPL-2.0 text is in THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.
