dry-run failed

Hi all,

with kubectl, you can send the following:
kubectl apply -f /tmp/xxx.yaml
clusterroletemplatebinding.management.cattle.io/user-clusteradmin created

cat /tmp/xxx.yaml
	apiVersion: management.cattle.io/v3
	clusterName: c-clusterid
	groupPrincipalName: activedirectory_group://CN=...
	kind: ClusterRoleTemplateBinding
	metadata:
	  name: user-clusteradmin
	  namespace: c-clusterid
	roleTemplateName: cluster-owner

When you move /tmp/xxx.yaml to flux kustomization, the error message appears:
ClusterRoleTemplateBinding/c-clusterid/user-clusteradmin dry-run failed: no matches for kind "ClusterRoleTemplateBinding" in version "management.cattle.io/v3"

Does anyone have any advice?

What happens if you run kubectl apply --dry-run=server -f /tmp/xxx.yaml?

And what happens if you run kubectl apply --server-side -f /tmp/xxx.yaml?

clusterroletemplatebinding.management.cattle.io/user-clusteradmin created (server dry run)
kubectl apply --server-side -f /tmp/xxx.yaml
clusterroletemplatebinding.management.cattle.io/user-clusteradmin serverside-applied

Then there's clearly something wrong with your setup. Flux does exactly kubectl apply --dry-run=server -f /tmp/xxx.yaml, so it should work. Does the CRD exist in the cluster where Flux is trying to apply the file? What Flux version is running there?

I found the error. I gave the yaml to the wrong cluster. After correcting this, everything is now working perfectly.
