Feature Request: Official Flux Helm Chart #5483

Flux is designed to update itself, having a Helm chart does break this concept as Helm can't perform this kind of operation on its own, also Helm does not uses server-side apply like Flux CLI does, so we'll always run into conflicts between the two modes. It's not up to me alone to decide, but we've discussed this many times before and we decided to have the Flux CLI and its TF provider be the way you deploy and manager Flux installations. In the last 2 years some of the Flux maintainers have develop a Flux Operator to deal with the complexity of installing, configuring and updating Flux at scale. I see no issue with the community-maintained chart, why do we need to have it under FluxCD org? If you want to become a maintainer of it please open an issue there we can give you access. |

I’m currently using a community-maintained Helm chart for Flux.
It would be a great honor if the Flux team could adopt and maintain an official Helm chart as part of the Flux project.
Having an official, trusted Helm chart would make it much easier for contributors like me to support CNCF projects.
If needed, the Flux team could build the Helm chart from scratch—what matters most is having an official, reliable chart that can be updated and released in sync with each new Flux version.
