Allowing is not enough, there's a huge breaking change behind. I've started some work in #362 but I need to decide if I can keep it cross-compatible or if I need a version bump / breaking change on my side too.

848341a (and the rest of #362) shows how much of a mess would be to allow cross-compat. I'll go the same way as Paratest and bump a minor but drop support for PHPUnit below 13.1.

I'll first release 2.9 with #368 first.

I wonder if this can be moved outside of 2.11, looking on effort for this ticket, i do not think it would allow 2.11 to be released soonish 😅

Oh yeah I just forgot to move it out. My plan is to complete as much issues as possible before this one because it's a big (subtle) breaking change that forces uses to upgrade to PHPUnit 13.1+, to avoid gating such features behind the upgrade; #388 is one of them.

I'll revise the milestones to see how much stuff is possible before this...
