The project I'm documenting recently changed in such a way that all my images are new. To make this work, I moved the img folder from static to docs (and the previous version to versioned_docs). To ease the transition, the old and new images have identical filenames.

After the move, the new images are not showing up in the new documentation when serving locally in development mode. Instead, the old images are still there. Changing the image filename (and reference in the md file) shows the new image in dev mode. Doing a full build, however, shows the new images correctly, even with the same image filenames.

I'm wondering if the site reload performance enhancements in this update are not noticing that the images have changed because the filenames are the same. Unfortunately, I made the structural change to the folders after updating to 3.2, so I can't say whether or not it worked before 3.2.

@andysjconsulting please create a https://docusaurus.new/stackblitz repro and give me precise steps on how to reproduce the problem, and I'll take a look. We do need to know if it's a problem related to v3.2 or if it affects previous versions too.

I don't know what you expect from this operation, but it probably requires you to update your docs accordingly. Maybe try this same operation in v3.1 and see if you encounter an issue.

And... I can't reproduce it. Similar Setup Here In the sample, the image files at docs/img/docsVersionDropdown.png and versioned_docs/version_5/img/docsVersionDropdown.png are different images with the same filename. They appear to be working properly and returning different images between the two versions when viewed in local dev mode.
