espRainmaker app not working properly with VPN

I have a ESP32 application that works well using Rainmaker. Recently I started using VPN on my android phone, 

I am observing , infrequent connections to Rainmaker cloud from the app. The widgets are not getting updated correctly and on time.

Have you seen this issue. It only happens when VPN is on
