blueprint on SmartOS or other Illumos-based systems?

This is more of a question than an issue, but this is likely the best way of posing it. Has anyone had any thoughts about extending blueprint to SmartOS or other Illumos-based distros? I do not have time to commit to this now, but am hoping I will at some point in the future.
