Purge Inactive Channels

• Come up with a list of reasons why (inactive for $x months, less than $y users).
• Delete the channel
• Confirm/log it to the admin log?

Is it worth it to pursue something smarter? Something like after $x months of inactivity, devanoobot posts an interactive message in the channel stating that it will be deleted in the next $y hours, with a Cancel button. If anyone clicks that button, the channel is saved for another $x months. If nobody clicks the button, the channel is archived after $y hours, regardless of any activity that might have occurred as a result of the initial notice.

That’ll give members the opportunity to discuss whether the channel is worth saving. The bot could even pin its own post to the channel to make sure that post (and the Cancel button) can be easily retrieved in the event that a long discussion leads to a cancellation.

I’m pretty sure this is creeping into over-engineering territory, but I wanted to put it out there anyway. I think it’d be fun to put together; not quite sure of its usefulness, though.

To clarify: I’m certain of the usefulness of having the bot close down unused channels. Not certain of the usefulness of the more involved implementation I described above.
