Glaciers rendeing

In the new version of the rendering engine, glaciers are displayed oddly: in some places they appear, but in others they don't.

There is a glacier at point N 43.01707 E 77.22393 (according to OSM data), but Opentopo doesn't render it.

PS: Very glad the project has been resurrected after a long pause. For me, this is the best map for hiking.

The glaciers are rendered. In the zóom levels up to 10, you can clearly see them in white. on higher zoom levels they should have a blueish hue. I don't know why some show it more than others. Could be the hillshade. I will check it out.

edit: I made the blue more distinct for glaciers, they should be more visible now. The rerendering of existing tiles takes some time.

I found some other strange things: in some places, the glacier isn't showing up, even though it's there on the OSM map and was visible in the old rendering engine.

it seems there is an issue with polygon rendering. The shape of polygon is oversimplified. For example this glacier has a complex form on OSM, but very simple on opentopomap

I don't think there's a problem with rendering. It's just that the data in the OpenTopoMap database is too old. It's from 23.12.2025. The data in the screenshots was added on 28.12.2025.
At the moment I'm experimenting with daily updates to the database, but don't know if the server is powerful enough. Maybe an update every few months is all it can handle.
But an update should come in the next week, either automatic or manual.
