First of all, thank you for all the work that went into this release. The 3D view combined with shaded relief looks absolutely beautiful! Also I love that the tracks follow the terrain model. Great work!

After spinning up a fresh 4.0 instance I noticed network traffic is on the higher side. I think the main reasons are:

• Several data-heavy layers like buildings, terrain and satellite are enabled by default. It would be great to have these opt-in rather than on by default
• Satellite tiles appear to be fetched even when not visible (e.g. when covered by the basemap). Loading these only when the layer is actually active would reduce unnecessary upstream requests significantly.

On a related note, I noticed the tile cache proxies sources that require visible attribution. In particular OpenStreetMap (ODbL, legally required), Esri World Imagery (required by their ToS; see https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/reference/display-copyrights.htm and https://www.arcgis.com/apps/mapviewer/index.html?layers=10df2279f9684e4a9f6a7f08febac2a9) and probably also Mapterhorn. Maybe I just missed it, but neither appears to be credited in the map UI currently. Probably worth addressing before this gets wider adoption.

That said, I would also love to be able to configure the tile sources. e.g. being able to replace the satellite tiles with a custom one or also for the osm basemap.

Still waiting for my > two million points to import but so far it looks perfect and I probably will be able to give some more feedback soon :)

There is actually contribution provided by maplibre on default. The problem in the default view ist that it is behind the date picker.

Yes, I need to look into the default loading of the satellite view. I think the main source is that all the layers are present in the reitti.json even if there are not visible. I tried to not have that many style.json files. Maybe we need to recreate them on the fly in the code. Reitti already does this for handling the tiles-cache or the lack of it. It rewrites the URLS inside the json.

That said, I would also love to be able to configure the tile sources. e.g. being able to replace the satellite tiles with a custom one or also for the osm basemap.

I was also thinking about this, in the past there was the custom_tiles server property. We propably need a way to upload a custom style.json. With this, you and other users would be free to modify the map even further.
