If your cameras have an antenna connector, look into getting a directional Wi-Fi antenna and point it at your access point. These will direct more RF energy toward your access point and improve the receiving gain from the access point. If signals have to pass through snow-covered trees, that may or may not help By default Wi-Fi antennas are omnidirectional so for your application you're wasting RF energy not being directed toward your access point. |

If these 900mhz cameras have a base station or a receiver at the house, the output of that would determine what is needed. if it is a rca out video feed then you need an encoder to convert it to digital. Or the base station could be on wifi/wired or something like USB even. |

I have several WIFI outdoor cameras, 2 of them are very far from the acces point. In the summer they work well but in winter they lose connection often (sometimes for days) due to snow on trees nearby. I have been reading about 900 Mhz cameras having better range.
Does anyone have experience with these cameras using Frigate?
