Describe the problem you are havingI have recently installed two IPC-Color4M-T cameras. One of them crashes at dusk when the camera switches from day to night mode and back from night mode to day mode. I'm puzzled on what to do. I believe the system is otherwise stable. It's just showing as a connection time out so in that case maybe something in the network. Either ways it's pretty basic logs so nothing to indicate more specifically what the issue is |

I have determined that this problem occurs when the IPC-Color4M-T is set to "Day/Night switch". When the camera switches between Day and Night modes, the errors described in my posts above occur. Notably, this only happens when I have Day's backlight mode set to WDR or SSA (I haven't tried the other settings) and Night's backlight turned off. (I will also note that Day is in color and its AFSA is off and Night is BW and its AFSA is auto.) The errors go away if I set Day's backlight mode to off. This "fix" isn't desirable because I want SSA or WDR turned on during the day. Has anyone else run into this issue? Is this expected behavior or a bug in the firmware? |

I've corresponded with a user of these cameras over at IPCamTalk who explains that these newer cameras are not meant to be used with either WDR or SSA as those are legacy features. Apparently the cameras' "normal" operating mode with backlight features off uses newer algorithms to produce a better image.
