Any way to configure AL like this?

Im playing around with the config today, but trying to get it to work in a certain way - so far I cannot get it.

Desired behaviour:

1. Manually turn on light via external method (ie non HA turn on, device app etc): lights will "Adapt"
2. light continue to adapt
3. light stops adapting only on manual change (like brightness +/- or temp change)

I think I'm close to getting it how I want, but its breaking the due to using "take control" and using the external provider as the on/off mechanism.

If its of any interest, the lights are yeelight bluetooth mesh devices which are integrated into HA via HACS Xiaomi integration. the reason the "external" input is used, is because BT the mesh hub is native HomeKit and my controls are all done in HK (Siri, shortcut buttons, home app etc)

If you intend to change brightness/color temperature via HASS:

You can do this with a light template. All functions of a regular light have to be defined in this template and in the end you will have a light entity that will call functions you define yourself. See this shameless plug: djurny#2. The example will turn off adapting of brightness as soon as you change the brightness in HASS. Same goes for color temperature.

If you intend to change brightness/color temperature outside of HASS:

You can catch the events fired by AL for manual_control and do some checking if the light has indeed changed (enough) in brightness and/or color temperature. In case it has, explicitly disable either brightness or color adapt switches and release manual_control to make sue the switch that stays alive can still adapt. This allows you to change brightness with having AL still adapt color temperature for example.

For me, the light template worked the best, as the manual_control event does not fire immediately after the light's attributes have changed, rather whenever AL attempts to adjust something for the light (interval).
