Disable in automation?

I have a few automations that set RGB colors for my lights. If course, Adaptive Lighting is intercepting those and doing it's thing.

How can I disable adaptive lighting in an automation before the light is turned on with the color I want? I still want the lights to use adaptive lighting normally otherwise.

Hi there.
You can disable the switch.adaptive_lighting_adapt_color with switch.turn_off to stop AL from changing the colors of the lights. Once you want AL to control the colors again, simply turn the switch on again with switch.turn_on.

How I stop AL from adapting brightness:

            - sequence:
              - service: switch.turn_off
                data:
                  entity_id: switch.adaptive_lighting_adapt_brightness_family_room
[...]

Just replace the entity_id with the switch that adapts the color, in my case that would be switch.adaptive_lighting_adapt_color_family_room.
