Context

This is a running thread for anything related to the fetch package in nixpkgs, maintenance status, and who's helping maintain it. Rather than a one-off discussion, treat this as the go-to place to drop updates, ideas, or offers to help over time. Feel free to bump it whenever there's something new.

Currently maintained by @Ghastrum and @samuelskovbakke — thanks for keeping it going!

Ongoing things worth tracking here:

• Upstream release updates and whether the package is in sync
• Open issues/PRs that need attention
• General maintainer bandwidth — flag here if things get tight

Hi, the newest version needs approval from you to get merged into nixpkgs since I'm a new maintainer for the package.

Hey, appreciate the intent but I'd rather not have structured governance threads like this. The project isn't at the scale when that's necesarry yet. Also, discussions should come from people who have questions or issues, not be set up preemptively. Going to close this one.

Noted, although the nix package is pretty much at a halt until Ghastrum gets to approving the update.

I've already pinged him in the issue, and if he doesn't respond we can use other methods to contact him.
