Override descriptions of uplink operations

I see on documentation that is possible to enable/disable descriptions using disable_type_description and disable_schema_description, and if i would like to change with a custom description, is it possible?

I don't wanna rewrite my persisted queries as local files just because i need different descriptions, but i would like to have the same query.

One problem here is that while the MCP Server would support description overrides (as comments in the operation body), I believe PQs would not support this. I could be mistaken but I believe PQs strip out the comments from the operation body during normalization making the description override in this fashion not work.

@alocay But don't you believe that can be useful we use PQ as tools with custom descriptions?

@rrazvd I can see the usefulness of it for sure but unfortunately that's a current limitation imposed by how persisted queries work. We will have to review and see if there's a different way we can handle description overrides for PQs in particular but as of right now (without any changes) I do not think there is a way.

Just to clarify, you're looking to use description overrides within the operation definition itself (as it's done with local operation files)? Something like:

@alocay Exactly, i would like to customize the operations description to simplify and use less tokens when delivered as tools to LLMs. Do you get this point? If it is not possible to do this at the MCP Server side, do you know how can i do this on the MCP Client side (i'm using Langgraph)? Is it possible?
